College History and Basic Situation
Hubei Finance and Taxation College(hereafter as HFTC), formerly known asHubei TaxationSchool, was founded in 1986.WithratificationofHubeiMunicipalGovernmentin May,2004, she was upgraded to the only full-time vocational college for the national enrollment in public of national taxation system.
HFTCis located in the Wuchang District of Wuhan City,thoroughfareofnineprovinces,and consists of two campuses both in the east and west areas.Enjoyingadvantageouslocationandconvenient transportation,east of State Road 107, west of the Yangtze River, south of the White Sandbar Bridge, north of the Yellow Crane Tower, the college is the Parrot Island Bridge area of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge.
HFTC is the “National Computer Rank Examination Technology Training Base” and “National and International Business English Training Center Certification Exam Place” recognized by the Ministry of Education, the “Taxation Cadre Education and Training Center in Hubei Province” recognized by the State Administration of Taxation, the “Civil Training Base” recognized by the Provincial Personnel Department, and the “National Occupational Skill Testing Authority” approved by the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. The“National Employee Education and Training demonstration”recognized byAll-China Federation of Trade Unions.
Educational Philosophy and Professional Characteristics
According to the characteristics of higher vocational education, following the philosophy that “qualityis theintroductionof thecollege,featuresare the prosperousness of thecollege,human resources are the foundation of thecollege, andreform is theinvigorationof thecollege”, the college commits to cultivate high-quality and high-skilled personnel to “serve the country and solve the problem”.
The college has been formed to its professional major groups in finance and economics and coordinated development in other majors. It offers such majors as accounting, finance and insurance, investment and financial management, accounting and auditing, taxation, asset evaluation and management, real estate management and evaluation, project cost, marketing, logistics management, hotel management, e-commerce, information technology applications, computer network science, computer art and design, business English and other professionals, and has over 5100 students.
HFTC puts forth effort on training students'manipulative ability andproblem-solving ability, on the purpose of developing their competitive capability in job market. She attaches much importance to practice teaching, having constructed numerous training rooms on campus and training bases off campus、integrated resources and brought them under collective control for greater efficiency and higher training teaching quality. She employs a large number of well-known experts from finance and taxenterprises and public institution to be part-time teachers or professors. She also emphasizes the organization of training and examinations ofjob qualification certificate, carries out carefuleducational mechanism of combining learning with research and production, and explores the "combination of working and learning" model of talent. Above multiple policies, she ensures the graduates to get access to more employment opportunities in more areas, and enjoy higher social recognition. Currently the initial employment rate of graduates has been up to over 90%.

The construction on literary HFTC is conducted to build an institution where the students and staff are keen on reading classics，whichtouch them to the depth of their soul and assist in fulfilling dreams. HFTC insists on designating every first Wednesday afternoon of each month to be “reading day” and encourages her staff to do more scientific research. Consequently, a culture of loving reading and being enthusiastic about research is created gradually.

As the“Taxation Cadre Education and Training Center in Hubei Province” ,which is recognized by the State Administration of Taxation and the “Civil Training Base” ,which is recognized by the Provincial Personnel Department，HFTC actively takes on the task of training the whole system，innovates to training content，focus on training needs，makes the personalized and characteristic training way，and gives prominence to training effectiveness, in order to improve the level of training and contribute to the development of local economy and taxation in Hubei Province.

HFTC is also actively expanding the cooperative education program by contacting with colleges and universities in America, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Hongkong and other countries and regions，helping college students to improve academic level, to expand the job market and to increase international competitiveness.
