A Talk with Canada North Island College Representative

On the evening of April.21, Training & International Cooperation Center staff conducted a talk with the representative of North Island College, Thevi Pather, Executive Director of International Education in Royal Grace Hotel in Guanshan.

In the beginning, both sides introduced general conditions of their own colleges, then conducted a discussion on potential cooperative majors, modes, staff training and so on. Finally both parties came to agreement that they would deepen understanding of each other to demonstrate possibilities of future cooperation by providing more detailed materials.

 

Canada North Island College (hereafter called CNIC) is a community college attached to Pathpro Project. CNIC was founded in 1975. It offers various diploma courses, certificate courses and English training courses. Many majors have run cooperation programs. Some majors’ credits could be transferred to many famous universities in British Columbia, which is operated this way: students study in North Island for the first year or two years, then transfer to Victoria University, University of British Columbia, etc. to proceed with the rest courses and get bachelor’s degree of arts or Science.

The majors of North Island are as follows: Business Administration, Computer Science, Early Childhood Education and Care, Service Science, Conservation science, Manufacturing Technology, Fishing, Cooking, Driving, Drafting, Electronic Technology ,Transportation, Home Economics,  Photography , Tourism ,and so on.
